Book Review for “Immortal Dance” Nancy Glynn

synopsis

***Gothic Romantic Tale with Mystery and Horror***

A gifted young woman part of a bigger plan. A man who’s loved her longer than he can admit. A contract binding them for eternity.

When Daisy Lock visits her family in the country, this visit turns into a dark favor asked by a stranger. Twenty-first birthdays take on a whole new meaning in this hideaway town. Thrown into an occult world filled with sinister lies, Daisy spirals down a destructive path of despair, taking risks for Christian Stone, a man she hardly knows. But this man knows her very well. There’s a reason she’s been sheltered.

Christian Stone fell in love with Daisy the moment his 11-year-old eyes met hers. He’s been told about her. Wants to protect her. But a contract holds more evil than he can possibly stop. As his 21st birthday grows closer, he fights the dark power that wants to own him…and Daisy.

When Daisy discovers she’s part of this plan, she learns what real evil is and must escape. Will she and Christian find a way out? Or will the dark forces bring the couple together as planned twenty-one years ago…soulless?

At first, I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t be able to get into this book. I am pretty far from religious. As I got further and further into the story, I realized that religion is used more as  good vs evil. So, the book isn’t about  religion but religion is used as part of the story. It actually functioned really well without being overwhelming.

I’ll be the first person to say I know dang near nothing about satanic rituals or customs. From my uneducated opinion…I’d say this book brings out some really creepy sides to what that could translate to if demons were real.

The writing moves fast in this book! There is constant action and no over detailed lulls. That brings me joy. I like my fair share of detail but I also like a story that is constant pow pow and leaves you reeling. This book definitely achieved that.

I liked Daisy from the beginning. I hated what happened to her but realized that in the end love can be selfish. Love can make you overlook consequences. Love can make you justify doing things that you otherwise wouldn’t. The theme there is consistent with this.

This author has real talent with drawing you into caring for the characters. I felt a connection with Eric and Christian as well as Daisy. I even got invested in minor characters. That’s a big plus.

My favorite part of this book is that it ends happily. I like a happy ending. That will always earn points with me. Especially when little kids are on the line in a story. I have a tender heart when it comes to that.

All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book. I found it hard to put down and really…isn’t that what we are all looking for? Another world to get lost in?

This book gets the full 5 from me :
