Book Review Policy

Review Submission Status

We are currently accepting book review requests. Paid and Free.

We are also taking Guest Post submissions at this time.

UPDATE: AlliesOpinions will no longer accept Uncorrected ARCS for “Review”. We can not provide quality reviews for prospective customers with uncorrected ARC’s. Too many authors have told me they are going to have the book corrected only to not and list it for sale uncorrected.

If your book has undergone the editing process and is in its final form, this update does not apply to you and we would love to review your book.

How Does It Work?

I am warning you now. I will review every book with honesty. If I like it, you will know. If I don’t like it, you will know. Explanations for the rating of books are given in the review. If you have a legitimate issue with the rating you were given, please feel free to e-mail your concerns.

Paying for a review does not guarantee you will get a good rating.

I can not stress this enough!  All reviews are set in stone unless you have a legitimate complaint. “Not liking the tone of the review” is not a legitimate complaint. I professionally review books and am doing so with integrity. When you hire AlliesOpinions for a review, there is a chance it may not get a good rating. All criticism should be seen as constructive.

What Do I Review?

I will review anything other than Erotica , Extreme Horror, Self Help or Overly Religious books. I also review books for children from picture books to young adult.

Where Do I Review?

I review on the following platforms where available:

Amazon ♦ Barnes and Noble ♦ Goodreads ♦ NetGally  Facebook  Twitter ♦ This Blog ♦ The Indie View

I will also post reviews in other places if specifically asked.

Rating System

My rating is the basic star system. Each books rating will be thoroughly explained in the review. I rate books based on a variety of points. Plot, pacing, character development, creativity, world building, believe-ability and much more.

How To Submit Your Book

AlliesOpinions reviews books for free as well as for a fee.

Two books a month will be selected for free review from emailed review requests.

All other reviews are scheduled for a fee. The fee is determined by the length of your book but is never a large sum. Reviewing for a fee keeps this blog alive and enables me to continue providing a platform for authors.

  • Title
  • Author
  • Length
  • Genre
  • Available Format for Review
  • Book Blurb
  • Free or Fee

Any book submission that does not include the above mentioned criteria will automatically not be considered for review.

I receive a large number of requests and this format enables me to process requests in a timely manner.

E-mail submissions to asumner28@hotmail.com

You can also contact me via Twitter or Facebook. I only accept review submissions through e-mail.

Disclaimer

Like most book bloggers my list of free book review submissions is very long. I try to give authors a round about idea of when their book will be up for review. This is not a set in stone schedule.

There is a chance that I will agree to read your book for free and choose not to finish it. This can happen for a variety of reasons. It may be that your book has serious editing issues that need resolved. It may be that your book needs a bit more development. If this situation occurs, I will send you an email detailing my reasons.

Blog tour or guest post submissions are accepted on a case by case basis.

Enjoy!

  3. OMG… I LOVE your Realness!~ I would love to be considered for review. I am a first time author/DNA-Entrepreneur. My title is a bit out of the box… Seth Godin said to Disrupt things, I think my title alone will. I would love to get a REAL honest review. Looks like I have landed in the right place if chosen. My name is Cabrini Schnyder, I have been a DNA-Entrepreneur all my life (it’s in my blood) In 2013 I decided to use what I have learned in 30 years to teach Entrepreneurs how to be Successful. (Success is relative) I created a Law. Cabrini’s Law of F.U.C.K T.H.A.T.T. (Finally Understanding Common Knowledge, Things Happen All The Time, meaning of the acronym) 3 CoreQuestions & 5 Principles to Live by. The title of my first book is.. F.U.C.K T.H.A.T.T. What do you WANT? An Entrepreneur’s Journey to Self-Discovery
It has been reviewed on Amazon twice. I look forward to being chosen… Thanks! Cabrini

  4. Hi, Alli,

Kudos for the great job you are doing for indie authors like me. I just published about five ebooks on amazon.com and other retailers. Would love very much if you can review at least one of them.

Genre is contemporary romance with some mystery/suspense.

  5. Hello Aliie,

When you are reviewing books again, would you be interested in reviewing my book, Devil Out Of Texas ?

I just posted it for sale as an ebook in Amazon. Please let me know what I need to do or send you in order to have it reviewed.
Here is the brief synopsis I posted with the book:

In the summer of 1973, a fourteen year old kid spends time with his grandfather and his friends, George Burns, Jack Benny, Georgie Jessel, and others, as they play cards at the Hillcrest Country Club near Beverly Hills, California. He later sits down to listen as his grandfather tells him the action-packed tale of his great-grandfather, the first Jewish Texas Ranger, and how his grandfather came to Hollywood to become one of the pioneers of the movie industry.
The young man learns about how his grandfather came to be friends with the early stars of the silver screen, like Tom Mix, William S. Hart, Lionel Barrymore, and Doug Fairbanks, and his grandfather’s association with the great Mexican revolutionary leader Pancho Villa, the famous lawman Wyatt Earp, and other fascinating characters.

    • Hello Allie,

I would like to ask if you’d be so kind as to review a book I just self-published on Amazon. The title is: Station At Diablo

      Here is the synopsis:

Take a wild ride, full of adventure, as Aaron Kovak finds out what it’s like to be a Texas Ranger in the old west. He grew up hanging out at the Texas Ranger office in San Antonio. His father was the doctor for the Rangers. He fulfills his dreams and becomes a Ranger. Getting sent on assignment he meets beautiful girls, finds romance, and faces danger. He meets unsavory characters and struggles with questions of honesty and morality. He learns the difference between the lawman fantasies of his boyhood and the realities of life on the outlaw trail.

      Thank you,

      -Roger Raffee

  9. Hi. I’ve seen the comments and I saw that you accepted hard copies. My next pertinent question is do you do reviews fir adult colouring books? I noticed you are busy until July which is perfect fir me as I’m going my second colouring, the first being published already and on sake already. So if you do review colouring books I would love to send you a copy for your own personal use. Many regards Elizabeth Eliuk.

  10. Hi, Allie,
I appreciate your refusal to consider uncorrected ARCs, and I’m interested in submitting my book to you. It has been professionally edited and is now with the proofreader, so my ARC may have a few minor issues to be corrected. Is an edited, but not yet proofread, book acceptable?
    Thanks..

  12. Hi There!

I recently published a picture book for kids no older than 2 yrs. It’s my first time and as (Hopefully) expected I am walking blind! By luck I came across Indie Book Reviews post on bloggers who review books for other authors. This is VERY Exciting (& scary)! Checked out some of your other posts and just wanted to express my amazement at the brilliance that led to this whole genre of bloggers who help others hone their creativity and art!
